Frequently asked questions
How do I get started?
Open Tinnitune and complete the short intake on first launch — it asks a few questions about your tinnitus and builds a starting plan around your answers. From there, use the Tune tab to match your tinnitus pitch, or head straight to Mask for calming sound.
Where is my data stored?
Everything — your tinnitus profile, journal entries, presets, and session history — stays on your device. Tinnitune has no account and no backend server. See the Privacy Policy for the full details.
How do I back up my data or move it to a new device?
Go to Settings and use the backup/export option to create a file with your data, then import it on your new device. Since nothing is stored on a server, this file is the only way to transfer your data.
How do I manage or restore my Premium subscription?
Premium purchases are handled entirely through the App Store. To manage, cancel, or restore a subscription, go to your device's Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions, or use the "Restore Purchases" option inside Tinnitune's Settings screen.
Is Tinnitune a substitute for medical advice?
No. Tinnitune is a self-management tool, not a medical device, and doesn't diagnose or treat any condition. If your tinnitus is new, sudden, one-sided, or comes with hearing loss or dizziness, please see a doctor or audiologist.
I found a bug — how do I report it?
Email support@shahwave.com with what happened and, if possible, the steps to reproduce it. Screenshots help a lot.
